Beaulieu is the Smart Choice for Simply Smart

Beaulieu’s Simply Smart will celebrate this miniature motoring marvel with a cheerful display in the grounds of the National Motor Museum on November 12^th at the final rally of the season.

The seventh Simply Smart will showcase examples of the cheeky ForTwo, roomy ForFour and racy Roadster as owners park up, chat with fellow drivers and enjoy all of the features of one of the south’s leading visitor attractions.

Beaulieu Events co-ordinator Hesper Stratford said: “Simply Smart is one of the most laid-back and cheerful events of the year and always has a strong following. The cars may be small but they are big fun for their owners and the rally is always an unmissable opportunity to compare cars and talk about all things Smart.”

Some of the smallest and cheekiest cars on the roads, many Smart cars are personalised by their owners with vivid custom colour schemes and stick-on graphics, meaning that Simply Smart is always a colourful affair.

You can be sure to see ForTwos, ranging from first-generation examples right up to the latest third generation. Look out for front and rear engine versions of the family-friendly ForFour and expect to see a selection of highly sought after Roadsters in the varied line-up.

Simply Smart is traditionally held on Remembrance Sunday and a two-minute silence will be held during the event at 11am, which visitors are invited to take part in.

A highlight of the rally is the People’s Choice Awards, when visitors can vote for their favourite Smart car of the show. The owner of the Smart with the greatest number of votes will be presented with a commemorative Beaulieu trophy and special Autoglym prize, before leading a cavalcade of the most popular cars throughout the attraction.

For participants arriving on the day in a Smart car and taking part in the rally, tickets cost £10 an adult and £5 a child and include access to all of the Beaulieu attraction. Tickets can be bought on arrival or in advance online at www.beaulieu.co.uk/events. Participant access is from 9.30am when the Brabazon Restaurant will serve hot and cold drinks and breakfast snacks. All other visitors should enter the attraction through the Visitor Reception building from 10am and buy tickets at the usual admission price.

Admission to the event includes entrance to the whole of the Beaulieu attraction, including the National Motor Museum and its collection of more than 250 vehicles, the new-look World of Top Gear, On Screen Cars, the 13th century Beaulieu Abbey, Palace House – which has been home to the Montagu family since 1538 – and its stunning grounds and gardens.
