Expert Line-up Announced for Beaulieu’s Boatjumble – Sunday April 22nd

An action-packed line-up of free boating advice and adventurous tales has been announced for Ask the Experts LIVE! at Beaulieu Boatjumble on Sunday April 22nd.

The popular one-stop shop for nautical knowledge will return for its fourth year at Beaulieu’s 41st Boatjumble.

The show, packed with hundreds of stands offering bargains at the start of the boating season, is the largest outdoor sale of maritime items in Europe. Free admission for children under 12 will again be given to the event this year.

At the Ask the Experts LIVE! feature, by Boatjumble’s media sponsor Practical Boat Owner, marine experts will answer show-goers’ questions and offer talks and demonstrations on essential seafaring topics including radio communication, marine electronics, life raft operation, survival at sea and paintwork care. You can even learn how to draw boats with cartoonist Claudia Myatt!

Join Kass Schmitt, seasoned competitor of the Original Single-handed Transatlantic Race (OSTAR), as she talks about the essential preparation that helped her survive one of the worst North Atlantic storms in the race’s history. Then discover the secrets of choosing which new sails to buy. Throughout the day, the RNLI Central Solent Community Safety team will be holding a lifejacket clinic with free equipment checks and advising sailors on water safety. For the full line-up and timings see www.beaulieu.co.uk/events/boatjumble.

Also at Boatjumble is Boatmall, offering a wide selection of the latest products from leading marine industry manufacturers, and Boatmart with a selection of new and used boats on offer.

There will be even more for those who love life afloat with the return of popular Trunk Traders, as boatjumblers sell off surplus boating items that have been hiding in their lockers, sheds and garages all winter. There is no knowing what treasures might be unearthed and sold from their car boots.

Advance tickets are available online until 5pm on 12th April at £8.80 an adult, £5 for 13 to 16-year-olds. While under-12s go free.

Standard tickets are available online from 5pm on 12th April and on the door, at £9.80 an adult, £6 for 13 to 16-year-olds. See www.beaulieu.co.uk/events/boatjumble for tickets and more details.

Trunk Traders spaces start at £41 for a plot, while Boatmart spaces are £34 and stand prices start at £56 for a single exhibitor stand. All prices include VAT.
