Chatsworth, home of the Devonshire family, has evolved through the centuries to reflect the tastes, passions and interests of 16 generations of the Cavendish family. There are over 30 rooms to explore in the house, which today contains works of art that span 4000 years. The 105-acre garden has evolved over more than 450 years, and continues to change today. The farmyard has been a favourite day out for children of all ages since 1973, and the 1000-acre park on the banks of the river Derwent was chiefly designed by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown in the 1760s.
